The design draws on the profound connection women have with the phases of the moon, symbolizing renewal, cycles, and personal reflection. The concept embraces the idea of gaining perspective on one’s life journey, creating a nurturing environment for those facing health challenges. Use of organic forms to define an intuitive spatial flow help to create a more welcoming environment for patients, contrasting an all-too-common sterile healthcare facility. The Milky Way motif is the primary wayfinding strategy, reflecting the gentle and serene atmosphere that the stars bring. Soft hues inspired by the night sky remind patients that they’re not in this alone. This design project was led by Professor Amy Roehl during my studies at TCU.
