Barbara Fischer is a jewelry maker in her 70s who recently purchased a condo in Miami’s high-rise Bentley Bay Condominiums. Barbara’s background and cultural influences are at the heart of the design concept of her new apartment layout and aesthetic, reflecting her rich life experience and artistic passions. This academic project aims to suit the needs of this eclectic, well-traveled, and creative client through means of space planning, strategic lighting, and opportunities presented through ADA requirements. Above all, the goal is to curate the most comfortable, livable and flexible space for Barbara to age in place. Design studio led by Professor Amy Roehl at TCU in 2017.
