Inspired by the Archery Hall & Boxing Club Kogakuin University in West Tokyo, Ashley Miller and I designed a timber truss system that lends itself to an uplifting, intricate canopy feel. The goal was to examine precedents, design our own timber truss system, build it, and test it for ideal load capacities including wind, snow and dead loads using both hand calculations and RFEM software.
